My name is Ollie and this is my story.

When I was 13, I went into treatment. While I was there, I had a lot of negative experiences. Most of this took place at Elevations RTC. Elevations was a very abusive place – not physically, but mentally. A lot of the staff would abuse their power and allow bullying to happen. I was bullied and sexually assaulted during my time there. When I told the staff about it, they did nothing. I felt powerless and I felt like I had no control over what happened to me. I was scared and I felt so alone.

Elevations RTC has a history of abuse. I’m not the only student that has had a negative experience there. When Elevations RTC was known as Island View, a student took their life in the program. Island View changed their name to Elevations but the program stayed the same.  I’m not going to go into details of what happened to me there because honestly, it’s painful. What I will say is no one deserves to have this happen to them. I’m sharing my story in the hopes that parents will stop sending their kids there.

What I really hope for is that Elevations is shut down but I know it won’t. Elevations RTC isn’t the only bad program. And that’s the sad part, this happens all the time.

My name is Ollie and I’m breaking code silence.
