Discovery Connections (2010-present) Orem, UT
Residential Treatment Center
History and Background Information
Discovery Connections is a behavior-modification program founded in 2010. It operates as part of the Ascent Company, and is marketed as a Residential Treatment Center for teenagers aged 13-17. The program claims to specialize in treating non-violent teenagers who are especially resistant to treatment, manifesting as “self-sabotage behaviors, apathy, manipulation, or even minor physical posturing and temper tantrums.” It is specifically designed for teenagers who have struggled in other “therapeutic” programs. Discovery Connections operates two seperate programs, one for boys and one for girls, which have a maximum enrollment of 12 students each. The average length of stay is 6-18 months. Discovery Connections has been a member of NATSAP since 2011.
The program is located at 1834 Sandhill Rd, Orem, UT 84058.
Discovery Connections is a sister program to several other Ascent Company programs, including RedCliff Ascent, Discovery Ranch, Discovery Ranch For Girls, Discovery Academy, and Oxbow Academy.
